9 Songs
Michael Winterbottom, director of 24 Hour Party People, is debuting a new film, 9 Songs, at Cannes Film Festival 2004. As discussed in The Independent, the film captures live performances from Super Furry Animals, Primal Scream, Franz Ferdinand, Von Bondies, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and Michael Nyman, as witnessed by the couple at the center of the erotic, explicit love story. Read more on Yahoo/Variety. Update: The screening of the film is covered by the Guardian and Screen Daily, and already is generating a lot of general press over content. There's a follow up article in the Guardian. Speaking to icWales, a spokesman for SFA said, "The band are very pleased to be part of the film and hope it will be a success." ~ 13, 20 May, thanks to Ant

More Phantom Phorce
 Update from superfurry.com:
"HELLO.
Here is some information for the disappointed.
PHANTOM PHORCE ~ limited edition, double-cd special package
Placid Casual is visibly excited at the prospect of making a load more of these special editions of Phantom Phorce ~ mainly because they've proven to be far more "exclusive" than originally intended (due to the bankrupcy / liquidation of companies who used to work with us...freezing our activities and distribution lines).
They should be ready by the end of May ~ and will be available generally and online at superfurry.com at a 'normal', civilised price.
HELO.
Dyma ychydig o wybodaeth i'r sawl a gafodd siom wrth fethu bachu copi o'r fersiwn cyntaf, arbennig o PHANTOM PHORCE.
Rydyn ni wedi cynhyrfu. yn weledol. wrth ddatgan y byddwn yn cynhyrchu llwyth ychwanegol o'r PHANTOM PHORCE arbennig ~ yn benodol achos fod cymaint o bobl wedi cael cymaint o drafferth cael gafael mewn copiau rai wythnosau'n ol (yn sgil problemau methdalu a fu gan rai o'r cwmniau gweithgynhyrchu a dosbarthu a oedd yn cyd-weithio gyda ni).
Dylsai rhain fod yn barod erbyn diwedd y mis (Mai); byddant ar gael yn y siopau arferol...a byddant YN SICR ar gael yn siop Super Furry Animals ar superfurry.com ~ a hynny am bris rhesymol a gwaraidd.
Diolch am eich hamynnedd..." ~ 5 May
19 April : Phantom Phorce remix & Slow Life

The band will release a new mix of Slow Life as a downloadable single from placidcasual.com, from 2 April. Additional tracks will be Lost Control and Motherfokker, new recordings featuring Goldie Lookin' Chain and Killa Kela. Initial copies of Phantom Phorce will be limited edition, fold-out 3D, packed with the single.
Update: If you ordered from amazon.co.uk through this website, your order may have been cancelled. The distribution company used by Placid Casual went bankrupt, disrupting the release. They're sorting things out, and some copies should be available again by the end of May. ~ 22 April, 5 May
