Liverpool Sound Collage : UK Release
Paul McCartney releases the album Liverpool Sound Collage in the UK on 21st August. The music was created for the About Collage exhibition at the Tate Liverpool curated by Peter Blake. Blake is the collage artist behind the Beatles Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album cover.
McCartney gave Super Furry Animals never-used tracks, studio conversations, and ambient street noises collected during the Beatles recording sessions in the Sixties. Super Furry Animals remixed these to create the sound collages, Free Now and Peter Blake 2000. Cian Ciarn spoke with BBC Radio 1 Session: Wales about the project. On 8 May, the SFA aired their work on BBC Radio 1 during a Breezeblock set with Mary Anne Hobbs.
Now released to club and radio DJs, Free Now will appear on the album, along with additional music from the exhibition produced by Youth. The album is released in the UK on 21 August and in Germany on 25 August. Releases in other countries are expected to follow. Visit the Liverpool Sound Collage website for more information and to hear music clips.
