Monsterists will be pleased to know the new series 3 figures will
come out on 1st August. 12 characters to be released in batches of 4.
The theme of this series is Woodland creatures and will be further
endorsed by a book and tee shirt collection.
Meantime, the gallery's temporarily empty after a new fan called to
say he wanted to buy everything available. 15 paintings and 7 large
sculptures are now in the possession of none other than... Uri Geller!!! He was even kind enough to bend a spoon for us when he came
to pick up the artworks. Ah well, there'll be more new paintings
coming soon.

From State51:
"Born near a large area of moving water, Squaljax (a.k.a.Pete Fowler) moved inland to focus on creating images of a distant island. Having worked alongside musicians for many years he fancies himself as a music buff, hunting sounds and trash to match the pictures in his head. Squaljax lives in a large blue Tetris block in east London."

News ~ from State51's email update |
'2003 has been a great year for Monsterism and we really appreciate all the ongoing support from around the world.
Playbeast's first born, Cam-Guin is almost sold out and he is now residing in
homes around the globe, thanks everyone! The follow up to our last mini
figures, volume 3 are now at the pre production stages and feature characters from
the Island's woodland.
Also in development is the new set of 3 soft vinyl figures, the Island's
first semi fungal folk rock band. Information is limited on this mysterious trio
at the moment, but an image of the lead singer, Mylton Hyrax has been
witnessed... All these new pieces are due for release around March /April 2004.
Monsterism series 3 will be released with a booklet detailing the life and habits of
these fascinating woodland creatures with images to be released soon after
Christmas.
The Monsterism Island animation pilot is to start soon, it's almost too
exciting to go into details but watch this space.
Playbeast the new toy label is now up and running with our first new artist
signed and a number of new products planned. First up is Cardboy; the flat
packed freedom fighter fighting crime in Cardboard City (except when it's
raining!) 8 characters in a blind box selection released just before Christmas in
super limited quantities with full release early next year.
The designer and creator is AMDC aka John Mark James, Cardiff born London
based artist /Illustrator who we are proud to announce as part of the Playbeast
stable.
Also in the pipeline from AMDC is Chinpira, a controversial figure to
celebrate the European football championships in 2004 and Daf and Bitch, the first
vinyl figures from the Hustler showcase series. Marks work is fresh as a red
rosy apple and has been getting a big thumbs up from the Hong Kong toy community.
All images will be released shortly.
Playbeast are also happy to announce a distribution deal with Flying Cat in
Hong Kong for all the NATHAN JUREVICIUS designed SCARY GIRL product. Check new
PLAYBEAST on-line shop for more details (on line by 29th Nov)
A sight to treat your eyes is the new DORBEL figure from American artist JIM
WOODRING, Pete was honoured to contribute a colourway on the figure and this
and Jim's original green is available in the shop.
We would like to thank the Super Furry Animals for all their support
throughout the Phantom Power campaign. It went all the way from album artwork, DVD
animation to stage set design via promo videos and TV commercials.
There's a whole load of good stuff planned for next year, books, animation,
clothing and all manner of artwork. So stay tuned to Monsterism for more of
what you like.
Thanks a lot everybody.
